Benzie Shores District Library Card

The Library is open to all community members and visitors, and we encourage everyone to take advantage of our welcoming space! You don’t need a Library card to use our computers, attend programs, or browse and read materials.

 

Getting a Library Card

Library cards are issued in person at the library, just bring a photo ID. If your local/current address isn’t on your ID, a lease or utility/tax bill is acceptable. 

Residents and local property owners within the library district are entitled to full borrowing privileges for all library collections, including physical materials and the library’s digital collections (Libby, Hoopla, & Kanopy). 

Residents of the following municipalities are considered members of the library district:

  • City of Frankfort

  • Blaine Township

  • Crystal Lake Township

  • Village of Elberta

  • Gilmore Township

  • A portion of Lake Township (specifically, homes located within the Frankfort-Elberta Area Schools (FEAS) distric

For visitors or those living outside the district, borrowing privileges are limited to the library’s physical collections (books, magazines, audiobooks, and DVDs).

Children and Teens are eligible for cards but must have a parent or legal guardian sign their application.
